Ever heard of Finnegan’s Irish Amber Ale and Blonde Ale made by a brewery out in Minneapolis? Think they are just another one of those craft beer microbrewery, well think again. This is beer with a heart. A beer that makes you want to drink even more, because these beers are made by a non-profit organization whose mission is to create sustainable projects that would help those affected by hunger.
As the company says, “In the same spirit that buys a pint for a lad down on his luck, we believe in helping those in need”. Their brews can be found in restaurants, bars, and liquor stores throughout Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Profits from sales are used to buy produce from local farmers, which are then distributed to local food shelves.
For those who want to help but don’t want to get a buzz in the process you can also make a donation directly to the organization or via one of their projects, the Reverse Food Truck. Instead of selling food, the truck goes around communities and accepts various food donations that go to directly to the Emergency Foodshelf Network’s food bank. Or you could also order some of their merchandise at the Finn Gear store.
