Metro Relief in Dallas/Fort Worth is a non-profit, Christian organization that does various outreach programs for those in communities that are in need of assistance. The organization has a bus called Lyle that helps the organization reach beyond their local community and go to neighboring areas. The bus is basically a soup kitchen, mini grocery, thrift store, and counseling service on wheels.
In order to serve more people in need, Metro Relief is in the process of raising $25,000 in order to convert another bus into a mobile soup kitchen. This one they call Wanda. Wanda would need plumbing work for two sinks and water tanks, diamond plating for the floors, external speakers, some electrical work, and a wrap/paint job.
For those who want to donate in cash or in kind, or you may want to volunteer your time and skills, or those who want to offer their food truck conversion services you may get in touch with them at 214-705-3555 or visit their website https://metrorelief.org for more information.
